Microsoft Security Essentials Error 0x8004FF81

Just a tiny registry fix is enough to fix the problem. For that you have to launch registry editor in Administrator Mode.

  1. Type regedit in Start > Run box.
  2. And then go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options.
  3. Here you have to find svchost.exe in 'Debugger' entry from here you have to remove the "svchost.exe" in the following entry Msconfig.exe, MpCmdRun.exe, MpUXSrv.exe, MSASCui.exe, msmpeng.exe, and msseces.exe.

And from msconfig disable auto-launch of non Microsoft applications. And then restart the PC that’s all.
